>> Torts

 |
As much as employers and employees strive to create a healthy, safe, and pleasant working environment, wrongful acts and violations of duty do occur. Such occurrences may be damaging to the reputation, or otherwise injurious.
There are many different kinds of scenarios in which these wrongdoings, or torts, might occur in the workplace:
- A co-worker or an employer may be making false and defamatory statements (about you to others)
- An employee may be releasing confidential information.
- An employee may be denied benefits, commissions, or compensation.
- An employee may be terminated for refusing to commit illegal acts.
- An employer may not be following one of its own written policies regarding employment

If You Have A Claim
In some instances, we represent clients who believe they have been the victims of a wrong. Our goal is to help these clients secure compensation for any losses they sustained through the impairment of their career and the loss of important opportunities. In some cases we are able to secure punitive damages, which is compensation beyond lost wages or benefits.

If You Are The Accused
In other instances, we represent clients who have been accused of some infraction. Our clients rely on us to vigorously defend them against such accusations. We recognize that accusations of wrong doing in the workplace, even if unsubstantiated, damages the reputation of both the company and the individual, and may even result in job termination. Employers or employees who are facing, or expect to face, such accusations should contact us so we can make you aware of all of your legal rights.
